Leadership at East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church

Pastor:  The Rev. Deborah McKinley began her service as the pastor of of East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church in April, 2016. 

A southern California native, Rev. McKinley, is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary where she currently serves as a Trustee and Secretary of the Board. Ordained in 1982, she has also served as Associate Pastor, Pine Street Church in Harrisburg, PA; Associate for Worship in the Theology and Worship Unit of the General Assembly; Pastor at Old Pine Church in Philadelphia, PA and Pastor/Head of Staff at Lewinsville Church in McLean, VA.

Parish Associate: The Reverend Alexander P. Hurt. Alex grew up spending summers here in Craftsbury/Glover with his family. He was ordained in 1969 in Towson, MD. He served as Interim Pastor for several small churches on a part time basis and was stated supply at a church in Franklinville, MD for 20 years before retiring here in 2010. Alex main employment was in the Insurance Industry and served as a member of Trustees of Baltimore Presbytery for many years where his specialty was with churches in conflict. He received his BA from Norwich University and Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Seminary.



Choir Director: Cara Hill

     Cara grew up singing with her family here in Lyndon Center, Vermont.  She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Johnson State College, majoring in Music Education. Cara taught music in the Orleans Central Supervisory Union for several years before having a family. She has been heard singing with many local NEK groups from Northsong, QNEK productions and most recently Anima Women's Vocal Ensemble. 

Organist: Kevin Smith

Organ music in church is an adjunct to prayer, and playing hymns on the organ is central to worship, because "who sings, prays twice.”  The organist's role has been an avocation for Kevin since he was 16 years old, and it continues today. On a personal note, variety, diversity, change and adaptability enhances the flavor of living, and such are central guiding principles for Kevin.
